"Hi. I'm Laura from Youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to write a book proposal. Your book proposal should first and foremost meet the requirements set aside, set out by the person you're submitting it to, generally the publisher. They'll usually have specific guidelines for what they like to receive in a package from potential authors. So you want to follow that to the letter. Make sure that your materials are very neat and presented really professionally whatever it is that you're submitting which will be determined by their guidelines. Now usually a book proposal will have a sample chapter, some sample material from you. It will have a letter explaining why you're the best person to write this book. Generally you'll want to do some research about what's already out there on the topic. Do a sort of competitive analysis that shows, makes the case for why there's a need for the book that you want to write. And you know your resume. Some of the materials about you. You may want to have letters of reference. People saying why you're the person to write this book. It really just depends on what the publisher's looking for but again make sure that you follow the specific guidelines from your publisher and make sure that the publisher that you're submitting your proposal to is interested in that type of material that you're proposing. So do some of your own research. Find out the guidelines and then follow them to the letter. Make sure that your information is presented professionally and you'll have a strong book proposal."
