"Hi, I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to write a letter for grant money. Another way of saying this is how to write a letter of intent because more and more, funders are moving towards a system where you write a letter of intent, which is sort of like a pre-qualification for competing for grant money. Now, this is a good thing in that it saves you time if you're not qualified. All you need to do is write a letter, I mean, you're you're only investing that much time in writing a letter. But in another way, it's a bad thing because it means that you only have this much, you have a a one page space to state your case and try and sell your your cause so it really cause, it really forces you to really know what your pitch is. Get your mission down into a small capsule and be able to sell it very well in a small amount of words. So that being said, you really need to understand what it is that you're trying to achieve and be able to express it in a small amount of words. So write a letter that explains what you're trying to achieve, why, what you've already done, and how you expect to solve the problem, or create a program that will meet the need that you see as existing. So, that gives you a pretty tall order for a one page letter, but it also again, is a quicker job than writing a a large grant proposal. So make your case, use strong language and use specific examples that can demonstrate your fit for this project or proposal that you're looking to fund. Those are some ideas about how to write a letter for grant money."
