"Hi, I'm Laura from YoungWritersWorkshops.com. And I want to talk about how to home school in Oklahoma. Oklahoma is actually the only state where there is a constitutional provision allowing for home schooling. And the state requirements are pretty, pretty easy to fulfill in Oklahoma. There is no test required, no teacher qualifications required for parents. And basically, if you are going to be doing home schooling in your area. You'll want to find a group of other families. So that you'll have some opportunities for social learning for your kids. And I recommend searching for an on-line group or finding out through your church. Or through other organizations that you're connected with. What exists already in your area. And getting involved with co-op or some sort of network. That will allow you to plan activities. Do group experiences, outings, field trips. With other kids around the age of your children. You'll also get some good ideas about curriculum by connecting with other people. You may also find that your area has some independent study programs. That are open to enrollment by home schooling families. So that could be another resource to find out about. And you could probably do that through word of mouth. And communicating with other families. So those are some of the things to think about. If you plan to home school in Oklahoma."
