Home schooling is legal in all parts of Canada and it is maintained the control of each province lies within the department or the Administry of Education for that province so in Ontario you'll want to check with your provincial ministry of education and all of the questions and answers that you will need are on line at the website for the Ontario Department of Education. Now as a home schooling family you will also probably want to seek the support of a local group and you may find an on line community that will help you to plan social events for your kids. You may also find out about tutors or local study resources that may be helpful for you so becoming involved with a local group is a really important step to successful home schooling. You do need to file information in Ontario. You will need to file an annual letter and again that will be through the ministry of education and that is due by September 1st of each year that you are home schooling. So some things to remember are to file the information that is requested by the department or the ministry of education, find some local groups and build a community that your kids will be able to get a social experience through and also find out about local classes and tutors that may be good resources for you as a home schooling family in Ontario."
