"Hi, I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com. I'm going to talk about how to home school your child in North Carolina. North Carolina has several specific things that you need to do to become, to legally op, fulfill your obligation. You need to file with the state, and also show proof that the parent who will be teaching has either a GED or a high school diploma. There are some record keeping required, immunization records, and attendance records. And as a home school in North Carolina, you are required to give the state assessment. It can be given any time during the school year, but it is required on an annual basis. The state does have access to the scores. There are a couple other, thing, the state technically is able to do home visits as a, to home schools, but you can always refuse that type of visit, if it's not required for you to do that. In every state, and no matter where you're home schooling, you'll want to find an on-line community having, creating a social circle for your child so that your students will be able to have experiences with kids their own age, and have some, a group to go on field trips or do other classes, extracurriculars with. So look for a local group in your area so that you'll be able to create this network for kids. You'll also be able to get ideas from other families about curriculum, possibly share materials, and extend what you have available for your students by connecting with other families in your area.
