"Hi, I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com. I'm going to talk about how to set up a preschool classroom. An important part of setting up a preschool classroom is thinking about how to make the children feel welcome and comfortable, and make their experience one that flows really easily. So begin by the beginning of the day, when students come in, where will they store their things? Giving them some room to put their belongings that will be just their own, will make them feel comfortable, make them feel settled and also, helps you with organization so you know where to find their belongings. So you'll want to have a hook or somewhere where they can hang their backpack, and a jacket, and this should have their name near it or they should know exactly which one. The hook should be labeled, and this will be where, whenever they need to, they can go back and get their things. You also want to have an art area in your classroom where students can be creative and then it'll also allow for easy cleanup. You want to make sure that whatever surface this is on is not one that will be damaged by spilled paint or spilled crayon, you know, any kind of colorful markings. Another area you'll want to have in your classroom is a library, or a reading area, story area, where students can relax and look at books together in a small group, making, reinforcing the idea that reading is fun, something that everyone likes to do, and some, something that can really, an area that really lets them explore and spend more time. Another thing that you want to include in your classroom is centers, and you'll want things like blocks, dress up area so you'll have are...area where they can store the dress up materials, and also do some pretend play with, while they're using the clothes. Just think about with each of these, each area of the classroom, think about how they'll all work together. Try and keep the noisier areas away from each other so that the noise level doesn't keep building on each other. Think about all the, all the different ways that your kids will be interacting with each other and then think about what's a good flow for your classroom. So those are some ideas about how to set up a preschool classroom."
