Series Summary

In the context of sociology and popular culture, the concept of interpersonal relationships involves social associations, connections or affiliations between two or more people. Such persons may interact overtly, covertly, face-to-face or may remain effectively unknown to each other, as in a virtual community whose members maintain anonymity and do not socialize outside of a chat room. The discovery or establishment of common ground between people provides a fundamental component for enduring interpersonal relationships. In this free video series on relationships, an experienced life coach discusses friendships and life skills. Learn how to make friends, how to be popular and how to make people like you. Get tips on being single and learn about how to remain single. Finally, get information on the importance of family planning.

Video Transcript

"Hi I'm Donna Barnes I'm a life and dating coach and owner of NY Dating Coach here in New York City. In this clip we'll talk about the benefits of being single. And I know a lot of people don't like being single but it truly is a benefit. There's so many more opportunities that are open to you, as a single person. You genuinely, generally get invited to a lot more things without having to say ooh can I bring a date. And people are more open to talking to you if you are standing there by yourself at something rather then with somebody else. You'll meet a lot more people. So while you are single take an opportunity to do the things that you really would like to do. Don't wait till you are with somebody else. Travel, travel is a lot less expensive with just one person. Take in new sights, education,it's a great time you know when you don't have a relationship that's interfering with your study time. You can really advance yourself more, so being single is a really wonderful thing. Just choose to be happy about it. This is Donna Barnes from New York City."
