Citronella does NOT come from citrus. It comes from a tall grass Cymbopogon nardus (also known as Andropogon nardus) and is of the Graminae (Poaceae) family. Originates from Sri Lanka.

Hello my name is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg in Miami, Florida with Miami Dog Training. In this clip we're going to talk about anti-bark collars. And again there's some different types of tools that allow you to stop your dog from barking and this particular collar is a Dogtra collar, they make great E collars and great bark collars. Now this happens to be a collar that gives you a choice of two stimulations when the dog barks and it senses the bark through this little piece here which absorbs the shock or the vibration from their bark and then these two little points here need to be both touching the neck of the dog, not just the hair, in order for them to get a stimulation. Now that stimulation can either be a vibration like a pager or a slight little shock that again corrects their behavior so once they figure out I bark, I get shocked, it's not a feeling they like, not a feeling that really hurts them though. And they also have citronella ones which is a citronella spray when the dog barks. So it's something to think about. Once again this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training.
