"Hello my name is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg in Miami, Florida with Miami Dog Training. In this clip we're going to talk about how to make a doghouse warm for the winter. And again, in Florida it's not so much of a problem for us. Of course north of Palm Beach it gets pretty cold, it can get into the teens but down here in South Florida, the rare occasional night it might drop into the 30's. But in keeping a doghouse warm, your first line of action would be a blanket. Now they do have electric blankets for dogs and electric little dog beds and electric pads which can be put in here, they actually make some specific for specific style of doghouses. This is the Dogloo and they actually do make pads that are rounded for this type of doghouse. And as you can see there's also some little holes here that you can put a door in kind of a flap door that they can go in and out, prevent some of that wind chill from coming in. But I'm going to go ahead and just put in this blanket and give him somewhere nice and warm to keep the heat in. Now this also provides ventilation up here for those hot days too, but for the winter another thing that we can do is to pick this up off the ground with some cinder blocks or a pallet so that it's not directly on the ground and absorbing the cold from the cement. Once again this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training."
