"We want to make sure that everyone knows how to play five card draw. So the first thing you do is you ante. We're going to play heads up. At my house the ante is one red chip. Heads up means I deal five cards to you and five cards to me, and we're the only two playing. And there you go. And now we have a betting round. Let's say for the sake of speed we both check. You check, I check. And now you're going to look at your hand and you're going to decide what you want to keep and what you want to draw. Well, it's too bad I didn't bet, because you don't have much of a hand here, alas. So you're going to keep the king and the nine, and throw away these three cards and say, "Reg, give me three". I'm going to give you three cards. Me, I'm going to take two cards. And then we have another betting round. You bet one black chip, I call your one black chip. You have to show down your hand first because the person who last bet or raised is the person who does the showdown first. You have a pair of kings and an ace kicker, and me, it's not clear why I just called because I have three fours. I win the hand. That is typical five card draw. We're going to learn about Skinny Minnie and find out what's different, in this series."
