Action Plans for Success

"Now the last thing that we have to do is create an action plan. We have put down what we want. We have put down good habits that we want to work towards. We have put down where we want to create more balance in our life in the next ninety days. All of that is wonderful information. That is what we want. Those are our goals. But now we have to actually write down an action plan. We can't just have that information: well that's what I want. Great, but how are you going to achieve it. I'm at a three physically; I want to be at a ten. How are you going to achieve that. I'm going to go down on Monday morning and I'm going to join the gym. I'm going to commit myself to two days of swimming a week. Be realistic, again. But what is your action plan? I'm going to get my PhD within ten years. Okay, great. What is the plan? How are you going to facilitate making that happen? And it's real important to create an action plan almost like a step by step layout. Otherwise, that goal can get kind of lost out there. It can, without a direct plan, a direct connection to it, it's just kind of off in the nebulous. And it becomes a little unreachable. A little unattainable. But if you have the exact steps, the exact action plan to reach that goal, that gives you something specific, and something concrete to follow."
