"Now we're going to talk about goals. And I want you to think first of all in terms of two types of goals. There are actually two types of goals. There are what I call global goals, which means things in the big picture, things that are probably in the future. I want to become a doctor. I want to own my own house. I want to retire at fifty-five. Those are big picture goals. There are also little picture goals. My goal is to get through this class without falling asleep. Something that can happen very immediately. That can happen in the very, very near future. What I want you to do first, before you write anything down, is visualize your goals. And when I talk about visualize, I want you to just simply sit and think about what it is that you want. What can you see yourself doing? What can you see yourself achieving? Can you see yourself driving the car that you want? Can you see yourself going to the bank with your big paycheck? What do you want? Visualize it first, before you do anything else."
