"The next thing you want to do is check your perception and this is something that we tend to not want to do because we don't want people to think we're crazy or stupid or whatever we think they're going to think but it's always a great idea when you have a perception about someone, whether it's a co-worker or a boss or someone you want to get to know better, you want to be friends with, you want to date, whatever it is to form your perception and then check with someone else and see if you were right. I think he's a real jerk. What do you think? And if you ask fifteen people and fifteen people say, Oh my gosh he's fabulous are you kidding me, perhaps there is something wrong with your perception but if fifteen people or even ten people say, he is, he is such a jerk all the time then your perception is right. So checking your perception is a really good idea. Now that's different than gossip. That's different than talking about someone behind their back. This is about finding out if the way you feel about someone. The way that you perceive them to be is accurate across the board."
