"Hi, I'm Keith Fitzpatrick. This is easy to learn hip hop. I'm going to show you how to do a ball change. Now the difference in doing a ball change and a hip hop as opposed to a lot of other things is that, with hip hop you kind of put a little more of your shoulders into the ball change. Normally a ball change would just be a left step and a right step in front. Or a right step and a left step. So let's just start there. With the ball change you want to step onto either your left foot and change over or step onto your right foot and change over. That's why they call it a ball change. You're on the ball of your feet; boom, boom. That's your ball change. Or this way; boom, boom, OK. With hip hop, though, a lot of times, when I do it, I'll put my shoulders in roll with the change. So you'll step, boom, boom, that's your change. Or you'll go that way, you'll step; boom, boom, alright? So a ball change is something that's actually part of another piece or it's another transition just like with the jump out that we did last time. So if you're sliding and say going into your ball change, you could slide, ball change to the left. Alright? Or the other way, you could slide, boom, ball change, alright? So just make sure; one, that you step here, and then step over. You're foot needs to cross over the other foot. And stay on the balls of your feet so that you have a true ball change. So you want to step here and step over. Or a step here, step over. Keep your shoulders in that too for the hip hop part. Step, roll, the other way, you want to step, boom, roll. Another transition, you're sliding and change. The other way, you're sliding and change. And that's you're ball change."
