"Now that we are finished vacuuming you want to reach into the skimmer, lightly tilt the skim backplate to the side and we are finished vacuuming but before you completely finish you want to empty your skimmer baskets. Because the skimmer basket is what catches all the debris that doesn't go to your filter or to your pump. Your skimmer basket catches it first, what slips through the skimmer basket goes into the pump and then the bigger particles that are caught in the pump is what we emptied earlier and then the smaller particles go to your filter to be backwashed out."
