"Hi this is Jon, and in this clip we'll be removing the Brickmold. On the exterior side of our door, we have our Brickmold that goes all the way around our door, similar to the trim on the other side. But, this is more weather resistant since it is on the exterior of the door. In some applications, you will actually have to remove this to be able to get the door out. So I'm going to be going through the procedures for removing this, just in case your application, it needs to be taken off. Now we're again going to be using our Putty Knife and our Hammer, and we're going to be following some of the same procedures that we did for the trim on the other side of the door. Now if you're having trouble getting the Putty Knife back behind that Brickmold, you can always take a Hammer and real gently tap that in, till it spreads that Brickmold from the door. Now again, if you are using your Hammer where there's any type of Sheetrock, you want to make sure that the Putty Knife forms a barrier between the Hammer head and the Sheetrock so that you don't put the Hammer head through the Sheetrock. Another tip is that it's always good to start at the bottom first and work your way up and if you just loosen all nails, and then come back and loosen them a little bit more, come back and loosen them a little bit more, you're less likely to break that Brickmold. And when you get those off, make sure you set those aside as well. Now after removing my Brickmold, I can already see that I have a big problem, and that's that I can see into my house. So when I install my new door, I'll be sure to fill any gaps around my door and that'll keep any air from going into the house."
