"Every dog breed will have different speed. So upon beginning to learn the frisbee catch, get a feel for how fast your dog actually is. You will learn this through playing tennis ball catch at the park or just seeing your dog play in the back yard. There are some dogs that start quickly and end slower, and some dogs that start slow and end fast. So get a feel for the speed, momentum and coordination of your dog prior to the actual frisbee toss. Once the dog gets in the routine of actually chasing the disk and catching it, you're going to have a better idea of the direction and the momentum of where the frisbee actually will be thrown. Through routine and repetition, your dog will also show you where they'll begin to start before you throw the disk. Many dogs after weeks of the frisbee catch, will most of the time not come back to the owner and wait about eight to ten feet until the disk is actually released."
