"Position for Frisbee where your dog can see it clearly. Generally speaking, when you get out in the field and you're about to play catch with your dog, I always like to show the dog the disk to get their attention. Coogle. At this point, the dog understands it's about time to start catch, and I've got their attention. Certainly you can practice in tossing your Frisbee. I always instruct and just do a visual. You want your hand to look like a C, and release. When the dog has attention on the disk, you know that they're going to be ready to work. Pooks. I also like to wave the Frisbee with my hand, or make a sound with my knee to get the dog's attention. Once I have the attention from the dog, then I will proceed with a short toss. As I mentioned earlier, short tosses are better to start. Once the dog gets the timing, at that point you can go for longer tosses."
