"When you're training your dog on how to do a frisbee catch, I would always recommend start them in a calm, flat environment. This could be a small back yard, a green belt, or I often recommend a local baseball diamond enclosed by a fence. With the baseball diamond, be sure to have a poop bag and a leash. And close the doors behind you with your frisbee. Often times I recommend starting the frisbee toss in small, short segments. Just so your dog has a shorter distance to actually time the flight of the disk. In time, your dog will have the ability to catch a longer toss. But the benefit of a flat, calm environment will definitely coincide with shorter tosses to have your dog judge the height, speed and distance a little bit better, enabling them to get a feel for catching the frisbee. Once they get to that point of catching short tosses on a regular basis, you then can move them to a larger area."
