"Hi, this is Cable for Expert Village. In this clip I'm going to show you how to get rid of the paper in the background so that you can composite your digitally inked and painted element on top of a background. So in your ink and paint tool, you can arrange your layers in such a way that the foreground element is on top, and there would be a blank layer or an alpha channel below. Now, there's a lot of different tools to do this but one is called the magic wand tool, that basically just selects everything that is similar. In this case, if we click on the white, the application is going to select everything that's white which is the background. Press delete, and in this case there's a gray and white checkerboard pattern that means that there is nothing in the background and that when you export this as a TIFF with a layer called the alpha channel, it will be transparent and you can composite this on a background or other elements."
