"Now I'll show you how to make a rope banner for our cake. And you'll need equal amounts of red, white, and blue fondant. And you'll roll these into a kind of a long snake. Make them all the same. Oops. Just roll them like this. They should all be about the same width, so if you end up with one being fatter, you can clean that, take that off. Trim it off. And put the two together like that and then the last one you'll sit up on top of the two. Like this. And then, kind of press them together and roll, roll them until you have one, multicolored snake. And we're going to, when you get it nice and round, and you have the multicolor. Then you're going to twist it, by rolling this side up, and this side down. And as you twist it, it's going to become longer and thinner. Now it might get too long for you. You can cut it half. We'll put part of it aside. You can cover that, the one you're not using right away up with a piece of plastic wrap so it doesn't become dry, and then continue to twist and roll, and kind of keep it an even amount. And we're going to twist it until it gets to be about, maybe three eighths of an inch wide. OK. And we're going to cut, trim that end off. I'm going to cut a four inch section, and shape it like that in a 'U' shape. And then take your rolling pin and without applying too much pressure at the top, but then as you come down, you want to apply more pressure to sort of flatten out the bottom. So that it's thick up here, and then it thins out at the bottom. And that sort of looks like a cloth banner. If the ends are a little bit too long you can trim them off before we apply them to the cake. And then you just take the banner, and you press it gently onto the side of the cake. And you want to continue this and make the banners go all the way around the cake. Now to cover up the tops of our banners, I'm going to place a little gold star on the joint of each one. And you can just very lightly dampen the area with a tiny bit of water. And glue that on there with that. And go all the way around, put a little star where the banners meet. We're also going to decorate around the top of the top cake with some of these blue stars. And again, you just cut out with fondant and gently press them to the cake. Being careful in this area where we had flag. Just gently press that onto the cake. And then we'll put our fireworks and our flying stars to finish off."
