"I rolled out my yellow and I'm making a bunch of small stars to use for my trimmings. And, for this little tiny cookie cutter it's hard to get the stars out of there. So, I've got a tool here. It's actually a tool for working with clay. It's just something I picked up in the craft store. But, it has a pretty smooth end there. You can use anything to just kind of gently push the stars out of the cookie cutter. When you use a toothpick for this job, it pokes little holes in your star and you don't want that. So, just something that will gently push the stars out. I'm going to make a bunch of those to use as trimmings on our cake. We'll also be making some stars on a wire that we can stick into the cake and this will look like fireworks. We'll be making some fireworks also. But, stars and fireworks that will fly over the cake. I'll show you how to make that. You can find some wire in a jewelry store, a fairly thick gauge that will hold the weight of our stars. And, just make a piece about ten or twelve inches. You want to cut a piece of wire. And, at the top just kind of twist it into a little bit of a circle or a loop. And, then take a pencil or a pen and wrap the wire around that pencil or pen and leave a good two inch tail on the end that you can poke into the cake. And, then just kind of pull that apart. Now, you can make you can cut out two stars with a cookie cutter and put a tiny amount of water in the back just too lightly moisten the star. Lay that on your work surface and position the wire so that it lays flat on the top of the star, the moistened star. And, then cut another star and gently sandwich the two stars together. Now, you want to set that aside to dry and the fondant will get stiff and dry. And, then that can be poked into the cake for a flying star."
