"The next thing I'm going to show you is called the washing machine shimmy. The washing machine shimmy you want to make sure you're in correct posture. Make sure that tail bone is tucked under. Knees are always slightly bent. Chest is lifted. You want to have your feet about shoulder width apart. What you want to do is you want to bring one hip forward and then the other, just moving the lower body, keeping the upper body still. With this one people tend to get a little reverb at the upper body. So, you want to start bringing it a little bit faster; twist, twist, twist, twist. You watch the reverb you're going to get off your arms. You don't want to be all over the place when you pick up the speed. Try to keep them still. They will move a little bit, but you do need to try to keep them still as much as you can. We're going to pick it up just a little bit more. Twisting; it's essentially the twist that you knew from back in the fifties. We're just twisting at the hips; watching those arms. Keeping your chest lifted. Again, this is called the washing machine shimmy. This is what it looks like from behind. Then bring it forward. Again, this is your washing machine shimmy."
