"The next thing I'm going to show you is called the chest slide. You want to make sure you're in correct posture; you want to make sure your knees are bent; you want to make sure your feet are about shoulder width apart. What you want to do is make sure your chest is lifted in this again and what we're going to do is we're going to push from here; not with your hand but from there, we're going to push this rib cage out here; we're going to slide back across from here. I like to tell my students, it's almost like if someone had a string here and they pull you; and from here and they pull you, and slide. On this move you want to be very conscience of your shoulders; you want to be very tense and bring them up, you just want to have nice relaxed shoulders; you just want to slide, slide. When you're starting out belly dance, you may not get a great slide; a huge one, you may just get a little one that looks like this but you will work up into it. So again, you want to slide; again almost like someone’s pulling you from here and somebody’s pulling you from here. This is called the chest slide; slide, slide. And another thing to watch out for is watch out for your hips; make sure your hips are staying in place. And this is the chest slide."
