Series Summary

Why design fashion for models? According to J.P. Prewitt, famous hand model of Bulova fame, models are genetically constructed to become something great: “They’re in peak physical condition. They can gain entry to the most secure places in the world. And most important of all, models don’t think for themselves. They do as their told.” It seems only natural for mothers to want their girls designing fashion and accessories for these legendary lookers. Because of the popularity of shows like Project Runway, fashion design has become a potential career readily consumed by our tweenagers and teenie-boppers. In this free hairstyle video series, professional fashion designer Laurel Armstrong teaches you over two dozen hairstyles to use in croquis fashion illustrations. Laurel covers all the hip hairdos you can use as accents for hip fashion, including parts, bangs, headbands, sexy looks, elegant buns, and more.

Video Transcript

"This is our first hairstyle variation. These are basically just to give you a jumping off point, where you can do whatever you want. I've done group of them. And you can take these for inspiration to get you started. The first one is just a messy on top of the head look. And really, there's not much rhyme or reason or order, when you do it. Just notice that there's loose hairs. And then there's a hair that's bottom top of the head. So, you want to start out with the hair that's bottom top of the head. And basically make a random set of lines. There's your part. And there's the front hair, the bangs. And then, it's that just rolled out of edge, sloppy, sexy look. Which you can do, any way you want. Curly lines, straight lines. Whatever, doesn't really matter. And then do your off shoots of the hair, that's not in the style. And then as you see this, add to it. And you whatever else, that makes you like the hairstyle better."
