"This next roll is called the reverse roll and it's the exact opposite of the forward roll. Because the picking is moving in this direction along the strings. So this one starts with the middle finger, moves to the index finger and then to the thumb. And it sounds something like this. A little faster. Now you can hear the difference between the forward roll, the backward roll, and the reverse roll. The difference lies in the placement of the high g string, it's popping at a different point giving you different kinds of syncopations."
