"In this clip we'll discuss some treatments for phobias. One of the things that can help in treating a phobia is medication. Now a lot of people don't like the idea of being medicated. But you need to understand that if you're having a lot of anxiety, there's a lot of anti-anxiety medications out there that could actually help reduce the anxiety level. If you reduce the anxiety level you'll be able to then work on your phobia. There's anti-depressants as well, if the depression has kind of set in as a result. There are a lot of different medications for a lot of different things and I wouldn't necessarily rule out medication. Talk to your doctor about it. Talk to your counselor. They can start you on lower doses, higher doses, you can really work with them. The one key thing you want to know, especially with phobias, and if your phobia is taking medication, you really need to be honest with whoever you're working with. Whatever doctor or mental health professional about your fears or anxieties about taking the medication so that they know to really help you out. So that you don't kind of take it or not take it or stop taking it. Which can actually be very damaging."
