Video Transcript

"Next we're going to be practicing a kneeling side plank to incorporate some strength into our gentle yoga series. So let's start in hands and knees position. And again, stacking the joints. So we're stacking our knees below our hips and our wrists below our shoulders. Now let's take our left foot, and we're going to kick that foot out to the side. Kind of like a kickstand on a bike, so it's coming out at about a 45-degree angle. Now we're going to bring all our weight onto that left side of the body, so we're going to rotate ourselves up, allowing the right leg to come long on the floor, and the side of the right foot comes to the floor. And it's aligned basically with the knee. And this shoulder and wrist, again, are still aligned. So if you have a misalignment here, start from the beginning, try to readjust there. So open the chest, reaching up with the right arm, towards the ceiling. And the last step is bringing the gaze towards that hand that's above. And that's only an option. Take a few breaths here. We'll slowly bring ourselves back down to center, and we then would do the same thing on the other side. Again, kicking the right leg out like a kickstand, opening and lifting and extending with the left hand."
