"What we will be taking a look at in this segment is how to sharpen the diamond parting tool and the beading parting tool. The angles of these are roughly 25 degrees off the center. This is one system where I don't normally use a jig but I will grind it freehand from the lathe, the grinder rather. Get your grinder on and then you set the angle so that you are going as flat and you are trying to match the curves that are on the parting tool. Just rub it back and forth until you see the sparks coming over the top. One of the things to be sure of is to try to get the area across the top flat and again with the beading parting tool it is done in the same manner. You bring it down and you are running the bevel flat. You should, the idea is to get a smooth area all the way across with the grind."
