"During this segment we are going to part off the top of the body. I've got a live center that I have put a cone top on to bring it up to steady the work. I have set our calipers at 1 and 1/4 inches. We know that the hole is 1 and 1/16 and we don't want to hit the hole that we've got otherwise the piece will fly off on us. Bring the speed up to about 1,500, start the part and we bring the calipers in, shut the lathe down and take just a regular hand saw, and remove the body. Take some sand paper and clean up the edge."
