"During this session we are going to look at what you have to go through to get ready to start boring the body of the pepper mill. Mount your blank into the chuck in the same orientation that you took off from the last session. Be sure that your shoulder area hits the teeth of the jaws and you bring up your tail stock in the same center hole. Once you have that mounted change over to a drill chuck tail center with a 1 and 5/8 inch forstner bit. You need to run your speed at 680 rpm or less. If you run it too high you are just going to burn up the bit. The hole is 1/2 inch deep. There are two ways you can look at it. You can either go off your coil measurement or it turns out that the body of the drill bit is only 1/2 inch deep. Slowly feed it in, why aren't we moving? You should get some nice flat curly cues coming off. Once you are done shut it down and then sand out the inside base."
