"Most balloon tire bikes came with a front light, and generally, it would be a fender light like this. It's mounted on the front of the fender. More exclusive bikes had it built into the front here, as part of the tank, but here's a great example of a fender light. You'll see the styling; this bike is from 1937, and you can see a lot of art deco styling on this light. They're very simple to take apart. Remove this screw, open it up, and put your battery in. This also would have a glass lens in the front; a round bulb type lens, and there's a company that does reproduce those, so it will be easy to restore this light, and make it look as it did when it was original; an example of a reproduction light, very similar. This is the Columbia style; again, one screw in the back. It's not as elaborate, but it, they did try to; again, this is reproduction, they did try to get some art deco feeling in it, and you open it up, you can see where the battery goes in. They're very easy to maintain, and there's an on/off switch."
