"What makes a bike a vintage bicycle? Well you ask three different collectors you're going to get three different answers. First of all a, let me talk about antique bicycles, the way we do it here at Menotomy we say if it's over seventy or seventy five years old we considerate it an antique bicycle. An antique bicycle is generally going to have wooden rims a, they may have a steel cladding over them. Then when you talk about classic bicycles and vintage bicycles people use those terms interchangeably. The way we do it a, a vintage bicycle is generally going to be something thirty years older or older. A classic bike could come from many different eras maybe only five years old, it's generally some model that had some defining factor that, that changed the way bicycles are looked at or some, something unique about it. That would be a classic bike but our main concentration today is going to be on vintage bicycles. Over here we've got a balloon tire bicycle, this is from the thirties, and we'll go into details about how you can tell it's from that era."
