"So, again, in your practicing while you're doing exercises, doing your scales, a good thing to do is to just check open strings. Even though while you're playing through something, while you're playing through your scale, and while you're playing through your short pieces, just to really make sure that you are in tune at all times. So, you know, it might mean just kind of checking your G. (Demo) And you can make little adjustments as you go. (Demo) And, as you're checking with open strings you can play the octave together or you can kind of just go back and forth, you can do something like this (Demo) and adjust.
