"Some cards when cast have what we call, comes into play abilities. During the main phase of the third turn for the black player in our sample game, that player is going to play a land and cast a spell, Ravenous Rats. By turning two mana sideways they're tapped, and that's enough mana to cast Ravenous Rats. The two mana is represented in the upper corner as one black mana, and the number in the symbol says one colorless mana, that means it can be paid with any color, if you don't have a specifically two black, as would be the case for Sanger Fage. When it comes into play, target opponent discards a card from his or her hand. This means that when this card is played, the opponent must decide a card from their hand and put it into the graveyard. The graveyard is where cards go when it's discarded."
