"Okay, and the last acupressure point we're going to do before we start the massage is bladder 60, called Kunlun Mountain, and also called the Aspirin Point. This is one of the best pain relieving points in the body. It's between the Achilles tendon and the bone. The easiest way to massage this is up and down, in through that space. Use a fair bit of pressure. The skin on dogs is fairly loose, and you want to feel that skin move up and down, and this will ease pain just about anywhere in the body. Again, if you can do both legs that's best; that gives you more general movement of the energy in the body. Massaging both up and down for about a minute each, just steady up and down motion, and that's for pain relief, which can be very important in just about any type of arthritis. Shoulders will be particularly painful, especially as the dog tries to get up and down from having been in the sleeping position. So it's good to do this just before he gets up, as well, in addition to your acupuncture session."
