"So, what it boils down to is that you're handwriting is you as much as your voice, and as much as your thumb print, and as much as just about anything else about you. So your handwriting is absolutely you. Your handwriting is is a good biofeedback loop. You can tell how you're doing that day by how your handwriting is. Or someone else can look at your handwriting and tell all kinds of things about you. So I put all these thoughts together in my mind and I began to think, wow, well, so if that's true, supposing you can get to someone's character and personality through their handwriting. And I thought, what's a good name for that? Maybe it's going to be graphotherapy. And so I was very proud of myself and then I suddenly realized, or I found out that there actually was such a thing already as graphotherapy. And that it was you know way back in the thirties somebody had written a book called Graphotherapy, so ideas get out there. But I will make this claim, OK, I think that even just practicing and learning calligraphy can make a difference. If you're studying calligraphy, it takes patience to do it. Therefore, you are learning patience. It takes a sense of balance to do it, therefore, you are coming into awareness of balance and using balance. If it takes self discipline to do it, therefore you are practicing self discipline, so this is a back and forth, and it's a good thing."
