I'm relaxing, pressing a little harder if you get a little bit broader down at the bottom. The T is a one story letter and as a model it's bilateraly symmetrical. Medium stroke going horizontal and medium stroke going vertical and that's all we need for the T, our sound sign, a T. The words that I have chosen for T are touch and timing. Touch consciousness is an idea in Buddhism and I like that. You have to be touch conscious, this is all about touch, right. It's about pressure and release and it's about touch and sensitivity to touch and it's all about timing. The timing comes into play in terms of how you're doing the strokes for example. What kinds of materials you're working with. There's some materials where your strokes would need to slow down, some materials where your strokes would need to speed up. There's also the kind of timing that you need to become better and better at dealing with and that has to do with how long it's going to take you to complete a piece for example. As a professional calligrapher, I really need to understand myself well enough to know how to time what it is that I am going to do for my client, timing.
