Ace and I are here today to show you about dental disease. Dental disease is pretty common in cats. And, in a previous series I showed you how to check and care for your cat's teeth by brushing. But, today we're just going to have a look at Ace's teeth. So, that you can see what mild dental disease looks like. You can see on that back tooth there, there's a yellow plaque that's building up. And, there's even some yellow discoloration up front. So, that's where the plaque is. Let's look on the other side. So, we can see that the plaque is a little bit more severe here. And, then one of things as the dental disease gets worse in cats there would be real serious redness around the gums and sometimes cats would even have missing teeth. The smell of the breath would be unpleasant to say the least. And, sometimes you would see some actual staining on the fur from when they groom. The plaque and infectious material would get on their fur.
