"Vomiting is another common problem that people have with their cats at home. It can have many different causes, some of which can be quite serious, but one of the common causes of vomiting is a hairball. And a hairball is actually a wad of hair that gets turned over and over in the cat's stomach until it forms a thick mass that actually looks like a tube. Some people actually mistake a hairball for feces, or cat poop outside of the litter box. Sometimes this vomited hairball will also have a very liquid consistency, material around it that you may mistake for even some diarrhea, but it won't have a smell, and so that will help you distinguish it from diarrhea or feces outside of the litter box. One of the easiest treatments for hairballs is a petroleum based hairball remedy which I'm trying to get out of the tube here. Which looks, it's malt flavored, or sometimes chicken flavored, or seafood flavored. Cat really like it, they'll lick it off your finger like this, and it will help to let the hair go through the cat's intestinal system so that you don't have these wads of hair getting stuck and having to come up by being vomited."
