"What we are going to take a look at in this segment is mounting the blank on the lathe. Once you have the centers set up on both ends with it marked, what you will do in this case with the four prong center, take your center mark, put the point in, bring up your tail stock, get it in between. Before you do anything let the blank spin and bring your tool rest over, you want to be roughly with the top of the tool rest with the center or slightly below and take your blank and spin it. If you happen to hit, like we're doing here, just move it out of the way until it runs without hitting, it slid out of position on the front end, and we're set to go. Tighten the tail stock and you are ready to turn."
