"Two problems you run into with making your bead is 1) when you have your bead almost formed you start getting a spirally cut or gouging cuts and what usually causes this is as you, after you get in and you are making your cut you tend to raise your hand, you are trying to raise your handle in too high and bringing your edge across so that your point digs in. What you are doing is you are getting the bevel or taking the bevel away from the wood and it digs a point in. The other problem you typically run into is instead of having a nice round curve you are getting it elongated. What happens here is you are doing o'kay, you are lifting your handle up as you're making the cut but you are not rotating the tool. You have to get in and twist your tool. What makes it difficult is you're actually doing two things at once. You are bringing the tool over and you're raising the handle. It takes a little bit of practice and again do that like the skew and just practice that rotating motion."
