"One of the first problem you usually run into with the skew is making a more elongated cut, making more of an elliptical shape or actually a cone shape when you want to make a half ball. The reason for this is as you're making the cut you're so concentrated on rubbing the bevel that you're actually just moving the whole tool. What you need to do is as you move the tool you need to twist it, twist to the side and bring the handle up. To correct a cut like this you just go in a little closer and twist. You want to rotate it around and down. You can also use the long point to clean the edge up, but your big point is as you rotate down lift the handle up."
