"During this segment we'll take a look at how you would make a vee cut with the skew. A vee cut is just simply you will be cutting a slot on each side of a line. These are used for either decorative purposes or as a means of starting and marking each side of a bead. To do the, to cut the vee you want to enter in with the long point of the skew, rest the tool down and again keep it up high and in fact letting it rub against the wood is ideal. Bring it down until you make a mark then go to each side of that mark and widen the cut. Again you start up from on high, lower the tool down and this will give you a slight mark and then go in and widen the cut to each side."
