"What we will look at in this segment is end grained hallowing. This is what you will be using if you are making items such as boxes. For this technique what you need to do is have your tool rest about center height. What you want to do is have the scraper so that you are scraping in the upper end so that if you get a catch your scraper is going to drop down below into space. To stabilize the way you are operating with this you typically want to have the tool resting with your arm resting over your tool and this will dampen out any vibration and make things a little bit easier, a little bit steadier. The way you start working with this is bring your tool into the center and then start working to the side and then rotate back and forth. The high pitched noise that you hear is the vibration that you are getting. When you start getting a vibration noise, you will start backing off a little bit of your pressure."
