Video Transcript

"Hello, in this sequence or this series I'm going to be showing you a few of the different strengthening, stretching, and conditioning exercises that are involved as support for our Tai Chi movement. I use to believe that Tai Chi was a complete exercise in and of itself, and it is a unbelievable set of exercises. But there are certain things that we need to do to support it so that we get the full benefit of it, and part of that is is to get the body healthy and strong. To get the body limber, to get the body movable, and particularly as a western society becomes more sedentary in these type of things, through our hip joints we don't have a lot of movement. So a lot of the stretching and strengthening and conditioning work is based on getting the center of our body flexible and strong. The other idea is that the legs absolutely need to be strong to be able to move. And, as we talked about before the six harmonies, all the joints need to be able to move freely."
