"At this point, what we'll do is rough turn the bowl. And that is bring it down to round. When you're doing bowl work, you want to keep your speed a thousand, thousand RPM or less. This lathe is set at about a thousand RPM. Where I have it is the vibration on the, well the work once it's going, is almost to the point where it's going to have everything rocking. And because I'm working quickly, it'll bring it down to relatively stable. But do not use it at higher than a thousand RPM. Tool is held, rotate the, rotate a forty five degrees tool level and bring it in. Once you get a lot of the high points down, you go to a shearing cut, still at forty-five, but drop the handle down at forty-five degrees and run it across. You can see that we're taking off about a quarter of an inch at a time, and this is probably one of the quickest ways of bringing it down to shape."
