"With the wheel going at a fast speed you're going to push the cone shape down. Left hand pushing in towards the center. Right hand compressing that clay straight down upon itself. Slowly take your hands away. Equal pressure with your right hand pushing down, left hand pushing in. Full pressure slowly take your hands away. This diameter will determine the diameter of the cup. Once the clay is centered, grip the clay lightly with both hands. Make a small hole. Fill it with water. Go down with both thumbs leaving approximately a 1/4 of an inch from the back and then with your thumbs going in opposite directions go directly across making the floor of the cup. Take your hands away slowly."
