"There are three types of handles we can apply to our coffee cups. They all start with wedging the clay up. And we're pushing the clay down, rolling it back, pushing it down, rolling it back. Keeping it in that pyramid shape the next step is to tap it and turn it creating a faceted spike shape. Tap and turn, tap and turn. Last two steps in this procedure are flattening it out on one side, flattening it out on the other side. Then the first type of handle we'll just leave it as it is. And for handle number two we'll tap and turn, tap and turn. And again, flattening out one side, flattening it out on the other. Now we'll wet the piece and make sure you have enough water so your hand does not grab. And we're going to be tapering it this way and this way. Putting some ridges in with the knuckle of your thumb and then I'm going to be letting this type of handle dry as is. And we'll be pulling a similar handle which we will adjust differently once it's on the cup."
