"After the clay is centered you can cone the clay up which is a further wedging procedure but it also allows the clay platelets to align correctly and prevents any future cracks on wide based forms and you simply keep your elbows close to your body again leaning over the piece, gripping the piece and then with increasing pressure pulling it in to a cone shape and the repeat of this is again gripping it on the bottom, more pressure, pushing in and pressure with your index fingers and your thumb at the top and if you are doing this correctly it should look more like a cylinder shape, a rod shape as opposed to a pyramid shape. The next step is left hand pushing in, right hand pushing down, your compressing the whole form into itself and then centering to the final centering stage. Equal pressure down, pressure with your left hand pushing in."
